This is a collection of stories from the talented Year 7 and 8 students from schools across the City of Parramatta, who have participated in the “James Martin in My World” Writing Competition. The “James Martin in My World” Writing Competition invited students to share true stories of the challenges faced by the people closest to them. In doing so, these young writers have offered us a rare and moving glimpse into the very heart of our City’s identity. The following pages are filled with creativity and insight that reflect not only the remarkable abilities of our young people, but also the invaluable support of their families, educators, and the vibrant community that surrounds them.
