The Feather in the Web has a second production!

March 9th, 2020

The premiere production of The Feather in the Web, for Griffin Theatre Company at the Stables Theatre in 2018, was an enormous success. Here’s what John Shand wrote:

‘Playwright Nick Coyle leads you into a mad tunnel of laughs, that has jokes, slapstick, silliness and satire jostling you relentlessly from all angles, until you feel pinched and punched into a state of comedic exhaustion. Then he hits you where it hurts with a mouthful of poignancy that leaves a lump in the throat.’ –  The Sydney Morning Herald

And now a new production of Nick Coyle’s The Feather in the Web has just completed its Victorian premiere season. It was staged by Red Stitch Actors Theatre as part of Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival.

Here’s the critics’ reaction:

‘… it’s gold star hilarious, cataclysmic theatre that packs a lot of heat.’ –  Arts Hub

‘The Feather in the Web soars outward – a hilarious, anarchic embracing of carpe diem – but also peers in – a tragic dissection of the obsession and cruelty of unrequited love… With this Victorian Premiere season of The Feather in the Web, Red Stitch kicks off its 2020 in the best possible fashion. Not to be missed.’ –  Arts Review

The Feather in the Web was one of the three plays shortlisted for the Lysicrates Prize in 2017.
