The Hon. Andrew Bell AC, the Chief Justice of New South Wales, organised the second Annual Sir James Martin Moot at the Banco Court of the Supreme Court of NSW at 5.30 p.m. on 2 September, 2026. The Banco Court is on Level 13, 184 Phillip Street, Queens Square, Sydney, NSW 2000.

In the Moot, two teams of law students, one from Sydney’s oldest law school, from Sydney University, and one from the newest, from Western Sydney University, examined a given set of circumstances and argued a case before three justices of the Supreme Court and an audience.

The three presiding judges were the Hon Andrew Bell, The Hon. Justice Helen Roberts SC, and Hon. Magistrate Imad Abdul-Karim.

The event was stimulating and instructive.  Entry was free.

We are gratified that with this Moot, the Chief Justice is honouring a man who is so important to the Lysicrates Foundation.
